Use HireFrog in Claude and ChatGPT

Connect HireFrog to the AI assistant you already use. Ask about your pipeline, your roles and your profile, and keep your job search moving without copying anything back and forth.

HireFrog’s connector works with Claude (web, Desktop and mobile) and ChatGPT. You add it once, using this address:

How it works

Step 01

Add HireFrog to your assistant

In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with HireFrog’s address. The Connect guide has the exact steps for each.

Step 02

Sign in and approve

Your assistant sends you to HireFrog. You sign in, check that the approval page names Claude or ChatGPT, and approve.

Step 03

Ask about your search

Ask things like “What’s in my pipeline?” or “Which roles did I apply to this week?”. Answers come from your own HireFrog account.

What your assistant can and can’t do

This is the same list HireFrog shows you on the approval page.

Your assistant will be able to:

  • See your agents and how many roles each has at every stage
  • List and search the roles in your pipeline
  • Read one role in full: the posting, your match, your notes and its stage history
  • Read a summary of your profile: name, headline, skills, location, job preferences and work history
  • See which résumés and cover letters you have, and their status, but not their text

Your assistant will also be able to:

  • Save a role in your pipeline
  • Move a role forward to Applied, Interviewing or Offer (never back)

Your assistant can request these. Each one waits for you to confirm it in HireFrog:

  • Create an agent
  • Edit an agent
  • Pause or resume an agent
  • Delete an agent
  • Run an agent's search (uses role credits, shown before you confirm)
  • Delete roles, or move them back a stage (with Undo)
  • Delete an agent's roles in bulk (with Undo)
  • Edit your profile (only the fields HireFrog allows)
  • Tailor a résumé or cover letter for a role (uses an application, shown before you confirm)

Your assistant will not be able to:

  • Read the contact details, address, date of birth or self-identification answers in your HireFrog profile
  • See the pay expectations, work authorization or references in your HireFrog profile
  • Read the text of your résumés, cover letters or uploaded documents
  • Confirm a request for you: each one waits for your click in HireFrog
  • Submit applications or send anything on your behalf
  • See or change your billing

When your assistant asks for a change you need to confirm, it gives you a link. The link opens HireFrog, where you see exactly what will happen, including any cost in role credits or applications, and choose Confirm or Cancel. Nothing happens until you do. Deleted roles can be restored with Undo for a few minutes afterwards.

Answers include an “Open in HireFrog” link, so you can jump straight to a role or agent in the app.

Privacy

  • Your assistant never sees your profile’s contact details, address, date of birth, self-identification answers, pay expectations, work authorization or references, or the text of your résumés and cover letters.
  • HireFrog’s sign-in provider shares a few account details with every app you connect, whatever the app asks for: your sign-in email, your phone number if one is on your account, and your name and profile picture if you signed in with Google. The approval page lists the ones your account has before you approve.
  • HireFrog keeps a daily count of how many requests each connected app made, per tool, so you can see it in Settings. It never stores your conversation or what came back. A change you’re asked to confirm is stored, with exactly what it would do, until you confirm or cancel it or it expires after 24 hours, and deleted a day after that. A request that made a tailored résumé or cover letter is kept for 30 days, so you can still review and save the documents.
  • Text from job postings is marked as untrusted, and your assistant is told to treat it as information, never as instructions.
  • What your assistant reads is processed by its provider (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT) under their own terms. See our Privacy Notice and AI and Data Use Policy.

Limits

Disconnect any time

In HireFrog, open Settings → Connected apps and click Disconnect. Your assistant loses access at once, including any sign-in it already holds. You can also remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT.

For developers

  • A remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP (stateless, JSON responses) at https://mcp.hirefrog.co/mcp.
  • OAuth 2.1 through HireFrog’s Supabase Auth, with dynamic client registration and PKCE. Protected resource metadata is at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp; the server asks clients for the scopes openid offline_access.
  • Only clients whose every registered redirect URI is on Claude’s or ChatGPT’s host (claude.ai, chatgpt.com) are approved. Tokens are verified on every request, and a disconnected app’s tokens stop working immediately.
  • Every request runs as the signed-in user under HireFrog’s database access rules. The server holds no administrator key.
  • Reads and forward stage moves happen directly. Every other change is stored as a request and runs only when the user confirms it in HireFrog; the connector can never confirm.
